Meet the Team

Matt Maloy

Prior to practicing law, Matt worked in a number of roles with the NSW Police Force and Queensland Police Service.  Matt has extensive knowledge of policing practices which is invaluable in assisting his criminal clients.  Matt was offered a position with a Gold Coast firm, to not only practice criminal law, but head up the firm’s family law section.  Matt’s advocacy skills as well as his skills as a Nationally Accredited Mediator, saw him seamlessly move into this area of law.  After only two years as a lawyer, Matt was able to move into the role of Director and with one of the partners of his employer established Cooper Maloy Legal. Cooper Maloy Legal expanded into Bundaberg and after the significant growth and success of the Bundaberg office, Matt moved permanently from the Gold Coast to Bundaberg.  It was this focus on serving clients in the Bundaberg area that saw Matt establish Maloy Law as its own entity, providing the best in legal advice in Criminal Law, Family Law, Traffic Law and Domestic Violence Law to the Bundaberg region.

Lavonda Maloy

Lavonda had many years policing experience before being convinced of the benefit her skills could provide in private legal practice.  Lavonda spent many years as the Officer in Charge of the Gold Coast Police Prosecution Corps, managing over 30 prosecutors, including police, solicitors and barristers.  As the most senior prosecutor on the Gold Coast she was regularly called upon to provide legal advice including for events such as Schoolies and for matters attracting high media attention.  When she commenced in private practice, Lavonda started a 12 month role to provide some consistency to the Cooper Maloy Legal Bundaberg office.  Her affable nature, accurate advice and strong advocacy, quickly resulted in the growth of the firm in Bundaberg such that the establishment of Maloy Law was a natural progression.

Zoe Green

Born and raised in Bundaberg, Zoe commenced with the firm after having worked a number of years in the hospitality field on Hamilton Island.  Zoe is currently studying law at university and is keen to practise as a lawyer with the firm upon her graduation.  Zoe provides paralegal support to the firm’s lawyers in the form of research, client management, file management and document preparation.  Outside of work and study, Zoe enjoys keeping fit, water sports and spending time with her family and pets.

Riannon Armstrong

Riannon is the first point of contact with Maloy Law.  As the firm’s Legal Administration Assistant, Riannon assists clients and prospective clients regarding appointments, completion of paperwork, referrals and inquiries.  Riannon provides invaluable support in the preparation of documents and managing the numerous consultations and court attendances of the lawyers.  Riannon is focussed on her fitness training twice daily and loves the company of her pet Staffy.
